Pope Francis was a spiritual leader, but more than that, he was a global conscience—someone who spoke with urgency and clarity about the dignity of every human life. In a time marked by growing inequality, rising nationalism, and deepening division, he reminded us of the enduring power of humility, empathy, and service.

LA is burning. I don’t even know how to fully put it into words—entire neighborhoods are gone, families have been forced to pack up their lives in a matter of minutes, and the air feels heavy with loss. This isn’t some far-off disaster; it’s here, in our home.

President Carter was more than a leader; he was a good man. In a world that so often prizes power and prestige, he showed us the strength of humility and the courage of conviction. He wasn’t afraid to take the harder path if it was the right one. Whether it was brokering peace in the Middle East, fighting for human rights around the world, or reminding us to care for this planet, he always led with a moral clarity that was deeply rare.

As his term comes to it’s end in January, I’d like to take this time to thank President Joe Biden for his leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the values that define America. Throughout his term, President Biden has exemplified the qualities of a steady hand during turbulent times, proving that compassion and pragmatism can coexist in the highest office of the land.

A few weeks ago, America chose to elect its 47th President. Though a rather unpopular choice amongst a majority of those who live here in our Great Golden State of California, it is time we set our grief aside and accept the result that was provided through the democratic process of our country.
